Most customers loved the new decor but the restaurant has since been remodelled again. Caseyville Cafe closed in January 2014, they had reverted to their old menu and improved the service. They planned to reopen the food truck but this does not appear to have happened and Bret appears to play professional poker. Salt Works II closed in November 2015 and reviews were good after filming and customer numbers were reportedly up and the restaurant was more busy. Woody's Tupelo Steakhouse is open and reviews are mostly excellent with positive comments on both food and service.

Reviews prior to Robert's visit are also very positive. There are some negative reviews on service and certain food items. City Kids Camp is open. They appear to have returned to their previous ways as reviews were negative on both food quality and service.

And looking back at it, going from Restaurant: Impossible to a talk show host was a bit of a lateral move for Irvine; he'd been doing the same thing for years, only instead of a cozy studio with an audience, he applied his psychological skills at mom and pop joints. Shade Tree Customs and Cafe closed in November 2015 after a crowdfunding campaign to raise $30,000 due to owed taxes and declining customers. Meglio's closed in January 2015 after reverting to his previous menu and bringing back the frozen pasta. Reviews after Restaurant Impossible were mostly positive but certain menu items received poor reviews. Cape Horn Family Restaurant closed in July 2016, whilst owner Joni recovered from a battle with cancer. Madison Street Retro Diner is open and has been renamed to Retro Diner. He used his personal experience with his kids to better understand the situations, and that often led to sympathetic and driven attempts to save the shops. Pelican Grill is open with new owners. Paul's Bar & Bowling is open and reviews are excellent.

It was featured on both Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (the highest of the Food Network highs), and Restaurant: Impossible (the lowest of the lows). Uncle Andy's Diner is open and reviews were mostly very positive after the show but have declined in late 2019 with complaints of a dirty restaurant and poor service. Owner Barry Kalt was hoping to secure investors in order to reopen but this does not appear to have happened. She was unable to be in the restaurant due to her ill health and it struggled whilst she was gone.
